Godard

Greenaway has said that while the first half of the film references Fellini, the second half (about disintegration) references Godard. Except for the fact that it's set in Godard's native Geneva and the shot at the end of a car departing down a road filmed in the diagonal, I can't see much Godard in there and no-one's yet contributed any movie connexions to the imdb. Can anyone assist with this?

Thanks for that. Unfortunately Greenaway just repeats that he makes reference to Godard; he doesn't say what movies he references or how. I've seen nearly all of Godard's movies and I didn't spot anything (the Fellini references were pretty easy to get, although there were some obscure quotations in there as well).

Perhaps I'll just go back to the film and have another look.
