Good movie

Come on guys.. not everything has to be a Michael Bay Transformers movie or Joss Wheaton's Firefly/Serenity junk.

This is a wonderful film. The cinematography is worth the price of admission.

here, here...this is my first peter greenaway film and it stuck in my head.

i'm still thinking about it and the more i like it...i'm gonna see it again this week...its a weird film but i love that Greenaway never breaks the films tone and mood and makes this world and characters (that he created) seem believeable.

10/10 for being a pleasure.

greenaway is the man!...ive seen "the cook the thief his wife and her lover"...truly a masterpiece, the use of color and space is top notch with the story and it reminded me of 60's godard.

Iam aquiring the falls as I type and look foward for those crazy 3 hours...I think i'm falling for peter greenaway ahahahaha... A truly important and needed director.

He is becoming a "nasty" influence to me LOL.

Hey javila.. want to see a good movie? Check out "Oh Lucky Man".

Directed by Lindsay Anderson RIP.. not as abstract as 8&half but really cool. I love the mixing of performers and the band that pops up out of nowhere.. but nothing beats the end.

Thanks for the thumbs up to my message.

Joss Wheadon! Sleeping in the parking lot for a year doesn't count as an Oscar win for "Toy Story!

Tulse Luper Suitcases is awesome! Anyone know where I can see or buy the other two, I only got to see the first one!

I feel so bad I didn't get to see 8 1/2 Women until now. I didn't like The Pillow Book, but I loved all this films before that. I guess between my dislike of TPB and all the supposed sexism in this film and it's bad rating...I'm so easily led!

I liked this movie though. It had a plot line, good characters and a lot of the surreal charm I expect from a Greenaway film. Right up there with Tulse Luper, The Falls, Zoo, Drowning by Numbers, etc. I am a woman and wasn't upset at all by the sexist themes and I already expect nudity in a Greenaway film, so that was covered.

I like the use of animals like the pig and horse connected with some of the women. I liked that all the woman had personalities. Yes, they could have had more time on screen, but the story was about a man and his son really, not about the women.

I liked a lot of the wit and irony. I laugh a lot during Greenaway films. I guess if you watch a lot of normal films, you would find my laughing odd. But I feel there is a lot of humor in them, dark of course. It's very subtle. I can say completely his films are unique...his shots, his lighting, his stories, completely unique...it isn't Michael Bay, kids.

I do like Firefly do, is that bad? :) Though I watched Dollhouse and don't find it that good. But I think I can watch both Peter Greenaway and Joss Whedon without a problem. My boyfriend wants to watch Transformers too...it's been on our DVD-R for about a year now, so I think that's his interest level...but my boyfriend likes David Lynch and Alejandro Jodorowsky...take his Arthouse Card away from him too!! :P
