Wow...hat's off to Lars Von Trier. This film is outstanding in every way. It evoked emotions in me in such a strong way that I've never felt before watching a film. Everyone seems to be fixated with the nudity and supposed offensiveness at the mentally disabled etc., but I believe they just don't get it.

Stoffer was close to reaching what he was searching for but the real hero of course is Karen. She has an innate understanding of what they were all trying to achieve. The end scene at her home is both heartbreaking and incredibly liberating. I only wish that it was Stoffer that was the witness to this moment. Maybe Lars thought Stoffer didn't deserve it!

This film says so much about society's ideals, playing the game and liberation from it all. For those of you out there that get it, I believe we're all the more better for having experienced it.

Agree-it's just great. Have you seen the celebrated norwegian writer Karl Ove Knausgaard talk about it? It's on YouTube and he has a good analysis of it

Wow, nearly 9 years ago I experienced this gem of a film. I get it out a couple of times a year to remind myself how magnificent it is. Seeya fellow fans.
