walking on the road
As the film opens, Christian is walking on foot (from a bus-stop?) to his father's hotel. The hotel is nowhere is sight, so it seems that it's not a five-minute stroll.
Then his brother, Michael, with his wife and 3 small children is passing by in his car, notices Christian and stops. Michael orders his wife and children to get out of the car and takes Christian with him. The wife is pissed off but gets out, and Christian gets in with a slightly embarrassed smile, but is not protesting.
The wife with the children walks to the hotel on foot. Some other family members is passing her by but they only wave to her, they don't stop and ask what happened to her and if she needs any help.
Is it normal in Denmark that a man (Christian) is put before a woman and children? And why does she agree?
