Cindy's roots

Did anyone notice that the roots of Cindy's hair are very black at the beginning of the film? I suspect she wasn't a natural redhead, but there was no further evidence to support this theory later in the film.

I did indeed in her opening scene. I sat through the entire movie just to find out the age old question of the day...did the carpet match? Sadly, we were denied any such answer as you stated so eloquently above. My other question is, were these girls even legal? We all know Melanie Griffith wasn't when she bared herself in Night Moves.

reply

If the actresses were legal, I'd say it was barely. Looks like Cindy (Debbie Osborne) made a few more flicks on the skin circuit, so the answer to our question is probably out there. I wonder whatever became of these two, who are probably well into their 60s now?

reply

Debbie Osborne usually appeared as a redhead, but of course that doesn't necessarily prove anything.

Debbie appears uncredited in the shower scene in Crown's THE YOUNG GRADUATES, along with other actreses. In some theaters, full frontal nudity was revealed during that sequence. A theater projectionist comments about that issue over on the message board for THE YOUNG GRADUATES.

However, all home video prints have matted that scene so that the carpets aren't visible. That's pretty much the case with THE LAST PICTURE SHOW as well. All home video prints are matted to prevent a male cast "member" from being shown.

Now, I'm not attempting to compare THE YOUNG GRADUATES with THE LAST PICTURE SHOW. However, they're both great!!

Insert "Tobacco Roody" into your dvd player, advance to 55:28, and your question will be answered (carpet wise). Or, roll over the spoiler below.

Houston, we have a match! And, uh... What were we talking about?

"It's getting pretty late, doctor"
"Later than you think."
