I think this was pretty common. The child psyche is naturally pretty delusional: I know a lot of the concepts in Animorphs got to me when I was younger.

Nah. I was in the sixth grade when I started reading them and they ended when I was in the 10th or so. I was pretty well grounded in reality by then. I did, however, fantasize about stuff that happened in the books, but I knew what was going on.

I was pretty old when I read them, but I still remember thinking the flashing green light under the escalator was scanning you to see if you had a Yeerk inside of you. And I'm pretty sure I had delusions of people I knew being Yeerks. Man, I miss those books, I was so obsessed with them.

I was more scared of Visser Three's tornado-thing morph that killed Elfangor. I wasn't scared of Yeerks. And really, it was the show that made me afraid of the morph. I just loved the books. I think I still have, like, eight or more to read, but I read the ending of the series. Found it disappointing. Anyway, I'm rambling, so yes. I was scared by the show.
