What needs to happen if/when rebooted!

I haven't read all the books but I have read enough to know that the show (while i enjoyed the show when i was younger) that it could have been so much more. Here are things that should be considered before attempting a reboot of this series.

1. Should have a significant budget to handle all the affects of transformation as well as stunts and animal trainers and live animals. I know it can be done with CGI but I think it would feel more authentic to use real animals when necessary.

2. The right network I have seen a list of suggestions on this board that range from MTV, NBC, Scifi, ABC Family, Fox (though they cancel everything so I don't trust them) and CW. All networks would be suitable because they all have similar types of shows currently running and have a wide range of audiences.

3. Should stick a bit closer to the books. I'm all for changes provided they are good but the books have a lot of good things in them that can be adapted to screen pretty well so it shouldn't be to difficult. Also a minor side note it kind of goes along with sticking to the books and the network it's on but I never liked that when they morph into animals their cloths morphed with them. It wasn't like that in the books but they had to change that for TV to keep it PG rated. The reboot should be TV-14 as the books were meant to be for a more mature audience.

4. A decent director for a series like this is a must. First one that comes to mind is Josh Wheadon but it doesn't have to be him. The creators of Smallville or Arrow would also serf-ice.

5. At least 20 episodes a season and each season covers one book. Give them plenty of time to tell the story and flesh out characters. And it should and hour long as a opposed to 30 min.

6. This more of a personal preference but it should take place in the year the books came out in 1996. Call me nostalgic but i would like if a reboot was set in the 90's, and it would be easy to plan things out in the past because many world events had already happened so the story revolve around that and not have to worry about any modern day events disrupting the story.

That's all i got for right now but I'm sure there is more let me know.

I am of the mind that animation would be a better route. The alien worlds/technology/ships, the multiple alien species, all the animals, action sequences, flying scenes ... it would be too expensive to adapt almost any story line. I mean, they have books that take place 60 percent under water in dolphin morphs. I'd prefer animation.

Also, no WAY do you need 20 episode seasons to adapt a single book. Even with 30 minute episodes, no book would need more than 3 episodes, most could be done in 1-2. That's the beautiful thing. The first two seasons could be the first 18 or so books ... that'd be glorious.
