I still cant get over the fact that they killed Rachel...they should have killed of Jake...make it noble or something that he does to save them...not my rachel :(
Just wonder also how old people that read them r?
Im 22 and still read them for the mementos...the first few r a lil timid now compared to the last ones.....
Ax is hilarious!!!!!!! I love the guy he's so funny when trying to fit into human culture especially with food!!!!! I mean imagine if you landed on a strange foreign planet where the species's customs are totally different and alien from your own and you had to learn to fit and blend in with them. According to those people, they'd probably find you really weird and maybe even kinda dumb or goofy. That and he's like billions of light years away from his planet and family and friends and everything/everyone that was familiar to him. Poor Aximili. *hugs soft blue Ax plushie* . And I agree. Rachel is awesome!!!!!!! She totally kicks butt and is literally the girl power of the group. Hells yeah !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways I noticed the same thing about Tobias on the cover art of the books. Instead of having like wavy blond hair, they draw him with brown hair and IMO make him look too much like Jake. Sometimes on the covers I can't even tell Jake and Tobias apart until I look closer at the face. That and the books with Tobias usually also have a hawk in the background as well as his human self morphing into whatever kind of animal.
"Have you said your good-byes to the light" -Lestat de Lioncourt
The only animal they ever showed tobias morphing from his human self was book #3. All the others were hawk => (add animal here). 13 looks like it's human to hawk, but if you've read the inside cover you'd see he isn't
My favorite Animorph was also Tobias. He seemed quite relatable to me, but oddly enough his past was quite different.
SPOILER!!
I really hated it when Elfangor was taken by the Elemist (sp? it's been quite some time). That was kinda bad. And I thought of a cool loophole for the series. Don't know if it's stupid or not but I thought it was pretty obvious since they left Cassie still alive. I hate that Cassie and Jake didn't end up together too. Oh well, guess it's most likely a dead series now...
I'm 20 now, and I still have all the books tucked away in storage. My fiancee thinks it makes me childish, but I refuse to part with them, and am determined to make space in a bookcase for them when we have a bigger place.
Oh, I know! My siblings broke down (they were 10 and 8) and even I got tears- after all, the only reason I really watched was for Rachel!!!! I loved her in I'll always know what you did last summer- stupid, yes. Predictable? Absolutely. But I'll do anything to see Ms.Nevin.
I started reading them when I was like 12 or 13 and I kept it up until the cancellation, when I was a frosh in HS. I've just begun to re-read them for the first time and it's amazing how different they seem now that I'm older. They still rule though, and like a person on this thread said before, the later books are very different from the first ones, it's almost scary.
It is a bad idea to tell Professor Snape he takes himself too seriously.
I love the animorphs boocks i am only 12 i have read all the books but i will never get to c all the episodes on tv i own the 1st one on video and have just got sky beacuse i thought it was still on. damm them people who canceld it dam them.
"If you pay attention, it seems like at the end she kills all of them. Crashing the RACHEL into the Blade Ship in deepest space will do that to you."
I could be wrong, but I believe Cassie was still on Earth, so at least one of them survived the whole series. Plus, remember Elfangor made a similar move to Jake's (ramming the Blade Ship) and he survived, so Jake and the others could have survived.
Now human lives and histories are simply pawns in the great game of dominion.....DOOM'S GAME
I hated the stupid bloody effing cliffhanger ending. I cried when Rachel died. And I virtually NEVER cry. I sobbed like a five-year-old who's just been punched in the face by the Rock. I have every single book from that series, and still occasionally read them. Damn they are so entertaining. Rachel was cool as hell, but my personal fav was Cassie. She was the heart of the whole series.
“The position of women in the Church hasn’t always been so horizontal."
Racheal was freakin awesome! I hated it when she died and could hardly get through the rest of the book when I skipped ahead to see that she didnt get revived or anything. I was deeply crushed. I always hoped that since the last book end with a cliffy, K.A. would continue it later down the road. Guess that'll never happen.
"I got a jar of dirt...I got a jar of dirt and guess whats inside it?" ~ Jack
me too, and sometimes i watch the end of the capture with Jake calling Tom. I couldn't believe how it ended(the book series) I was pissed tom died as well. Kinda hoped they would have saved him, and Rachel
I own all the books and still read them occasionally. What Applegate did to the end with Rachel sort of pissed me off, because I would've rather seen Cassie or Jake go myself. My favorite was probably Marcos. Anyway, it was sad, but Applegate did know what she was doing.
I was actually okay with Rachel's death... it was everything else in the last book that I got angry about. Looking back, it was a logical conclusion, but there are other ways I would have preferred for it to have ended. Hated the cliffhanger.
Damn I miss the Animorphs so much, I pretty much grew up with all the characters. Do you guys know if there is any other series that K.A.Applegate has started thats any good?
I started reading Animorphs in middle school and I'm a senior in HS now, so... it's been a few years. Good years, mind you. Those books were awesome! Since then I've moved on to Erin Hunter's Warriors series, they're amazing too. No transformations or anything cool like that, but they're still good.
I got a jar of dirt, I got a jar of dirt! -- Jack Sparrow
i liked her killing off rachel, because it was both sad and realistic, but i really hated the second part of the series. i wouldnt have minded them crashing into that thing, but cassie not being there was so stupid. her and jake should have ended up together. and it was kind of annoying that after 54 books of seeing if the animorphs got a happy ending, none of them did. im sorry, but not even cassie got one. that annoying guy calling her cass? HER NAME IS CASSIE!!!
