What year did you think Nick's Golden Age begin to fall?

I'm putting the same thread on multiple boards from our good ol' 90's shows. But anyway, what year did you think Nick started to begin to lose it's good shows and began putting garbage on? For me, I'd say 2001, after that Nick started to suck.

Around 2000.

Nick's downfall in 2000 would be kind of ironic in a way. Since we just entered the new millenium at the time and things, in this case, shows, started to change.

It's kind of like each individual time era that we have, some era's will have good music, like the 80's. And some era's might of been bad, like the 1940's with WW2. And in this case, the 90's era had good cartoons and shows and we were living in the good times.

From what I see in present day, despite the great technology, everything else pretty much sucks.

Pretty much.

Good observation.
So maybe next millenium there will be decent stuff on TV again. Or maybe in the next decade.

omg! i remember Eddie McDoward! isn't he the guy who would talk to the audience and the background would turn black and white? Did he ever complete his deedS?

reply

Unfortunately, no because the series was canceled before Eddie was able to complete his deeds, which I thought sucked because I really wanted to see Eddie as a human again, since we never really saw his face as a human.

From '97 and onwards.

2000. Though Invader ZIM came in 2001, and Nick went back into its good-graces. ZIM was destroyed and thrown in the trash in 2002. Ever since, Nick has sucked.

I thought a bit later, around 2002. Then, everything went downhill. SpongeBob, even, hasn't been that great since the movie came out (but it was anything but a Welles move, as five years was a nice long time).

well i guess i am biased cause i like spongebob a lot but i think nick started to really suck when season 3 of spongebob ended and it was put on hiatus because they were making the movie and then every episode after that sucked
so that would be like end of '03
actually though it would probably be like 2001 but spongebob was the only good thing still on
and no im 13 and chalk zone sucked
actually no maybe the golden age of nick ended with the Hey Arnold! movie
idk i really miss that show!

Around 04. Avatar was the only good show after Nick's golden age, but it ended so there's no good shows on Nick.

I would say in about 2001. I do like spoungebob its the last good nicktoon produced by nick. It has a style that reminds me of ren and Stimpy(though of course its not nearly as good as ren and Stimpy)

I think post 9/11. Censorship laws got put into place, and most cartoons couldn't get away with subtle adult humour like they used to.
