How in the heck does CatDog go to the bathroom?

I just read in a book, Peter Hannan the creator of the show says he gets this question a lot. His answer?
"Well, did Mickey Mouse go to the bathroom? I don't think he needed to and I don't really think CatDog needs to, either."
Basically, you never see Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny taking a $hiT, so my best guess is that cartoon characters don't need to do this.
About 5 months before Catdog debuted, in the Simpsons episode Treehouse of Horror VIII Bart manages to create the same type of animal in a teleportation machine using Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II in which he exclaims "Twice the pet and none of the mess" plus he creates another animal which has a tail at either end. Does that mean the other one is "Twice the mess and none of the pet"
My guess is there is a double tail animal somewhere and that animal handles all calls of nature possibly telepathically.

shareI always assumed that Catdog had a digestive system that simply neutralised anywaste via disintegration so they never needed to go to the bathroom, however, there are lots of moments in the show which imply that they do.
To which I say; it's a cartoon, don't worry about it.
Maybe they just regurgitate waste. Or the spots they have are actually pores which waste squeezes out of.

In The Great Parent Mystery they go to a bathroom and it freaks some people out, and Cat is angry at Dog for having them do it in public. I'm guessing they piss and crap out of one or the others' mouths.

Dog lifts his leg on the Golden Hydrant in anticipation of marking it.
Also, when they first meet Lola, she invades their privacy in the bathroom, and it appears that Cat has a sandcastle litter box while Dog has a fire hydrant. of course, they don't actually show it, but CatDog sort of sidles up to those things and gets into "position" just before Lola bursts in with a camera to observe the phenomenon.
