New movie a remake?

Is the new movie with Latifah and Jimmy Fallon a remake of this film?

"We're all in it together, kid" - Harry Tuttle (Robert DeNiro) "Brazil"

The original French film is a classic, the re-make is pretty poor by comparison. In the original the humour worked very well, but it hasnt translated at all into the american version, the jokes mainly being cheap slapstick that go against the french sofistication of the original. My advice is pick up the original on DVD, leave the re-make well alone.

I liked the remake. It was pretty funny, and adapted specifically for the US audience. Although, I have no idea where this "hood humor" BS comes from jsut because someone sees brown skin in New York.

That is the way we europeans understand most american movies. If there is a black person in them they are often from the hood, and talks like that, you know "Yo yo yo", "dis here ma peeps", "What up homie" and "Im gonna bust a cap in ya ass". I dont know if any black people actually talk like that, but according to movies almost all black people does.

We can't stop here! This is Bat-country!

This movie is awesome and no remake can do better. It's together with Vidocq one of my favourite French movies.
