Totally honest sex scene or what.

Pola X, a brilliant movie by a brilliant director, contains one of the few totally honest sex scenes I've ever seen in any movie ever. Real people having real sex. Not romanticized. Just sex. Very graphic sex. It fit the film like a hand in a glove.

Oh, a word of warning. Pola X has Pierre, the most angering main character since Heathcliff in Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights, so if you see this film, be prepared to be driven to strong drink.

Yes it is an excellent scene. If only it were less dark. Perhaps if it was on DVD or on a higher quality TV than mine I would have been able to determine if she was really blowing him during the 69. I've heard there is/was an unedited version other than that commonly shown on TV. Anyone verify this? They also say the actress used a body double...perhaps so but I'm pretty sure it was the same actress throughout the sex scene. Perhaps it wasn't the lead actress, but it sure looked like her and she had the same bony torso as the lead actress.

I watched the unedited version on DVD and on an eMac, so the picture was pretty damn good. The sex appeared real and I don't think a body double was used. Oh, in case you don't want to buy the DVD, Netflix has it for rent.

The sex was real, and it was young Depardieu, but not Ms. Golubeva -- an Australian woman (reputedly an Olympic [?] or olympic-level swimmer) stood in to take the pounding...

Um, well according to Guilliaume Depardieu, the actual actor who had the actual sex, this was a body double, and he went into quite a bit of detail about filming the whole scene on the DVD commentary track. I think that's a little more reliable than Wikipedia.

I knew a body double was used for Golubera for the sex scene, but according to some reports the body double was only used for the most explicit shots and that Golubera herself still did some of the less explicit shots in the sex scene. I watched the sex scene closely to see Golubera's face and sure enough, there were still certain shots during that sex scene that showed Golubera's face so I know she was at least in some of the shots...I suppose the actual sex and the fellatio parts were done by her body double, but the other shots were Golubera herself.

Do you know where I can listen to Guilliaume Depardieu's dvd commentary track translated or subtitled in english? I don't understand French...
