Great song and scene, but did anyone else notice that they switch between the censored and uncensored versions right before any crude or profane bits? The film is already R-rated, so what was the point? Was this done for test screenings to see if PG-13 would be better? If so they couldn't leave the whole song uncensored? It really stands out.
The studios are (in)famous for badgering first-time film-makers into making their comedies as broad and as clean as possible. As businessman they figure the wider the potential audience, the more likely they'll make a profit. The reality is that, for every time this kind of thing worked ("Wayne's World" for example), there are 20 movies that lost some (or all) of their edge because of it. In the case of Office Space, thankfully, it appears they eventually allowed most of Mike Judge's vision to survive but the editing you more appears to be a vestige of what they tried to do.
