Seriously. This is a movie (nee film) which is gonna be around long after you and I are gone.

I think all movies that are gonna be around long after you and I are gone deserve a 9.

It matters.

I'm kinda surprised its not in the top 250, its easily one of the most quoted movies of all time.

Frankly, I think it's like so many things from the Bible, Shakespeare or even Clockwork Orange and Monty Python... they become part of the culture but no one knows where they came from.

This should easily be in the Top 250. It is one of the best comedies ever made. Its satire is impeccably executed. Coming to the page, I was expecting a weighted average rating of at least 8.5? The OP is correct, what is wrong with the world?

Some people are easy to satisfy. 8.5? That would set the bar quite low for future standards..

Yes 7.9 is way to high a score for what is a very average comedy. 3 would be closer to the mark.

I can relate to everything this movie talks about but it looks like the film has been written by teenagers. I thought it was entertaining enough to give it a 4 but hardly can this be considered a classic, even if they tried hard to make it so...

I found it interesting, though I found it missed something. A little deeper diggin and another 30 minutes could have elevated this into something much better.

Gave it a 4.

Agree with you. I gave it a 5, I'd really like to give it a higher rating than that, but I just can't.

I loved Milton (the best thing in the movie). Lumbergh's character is memorable. There are some memorable quotes from the movie. But other than that, the whole movie just felt flat. The plots aren't very strong to leave any kind of impact. It's not a movie I would watch more than once, except maybe for the Milton/Lumbergh scenes.

Not deserving its 7.8 rating. Should be lower. Maybe like 6.8 or something. Sorry, OP.
