Movie got it ALL wrong

The dorks look like the popular guys are supposed to look and vice versa for popular kids - they look like nerds or just plain BAD. Everyone is totally miscast, an amazing mess, like it was done on purpose or something.

P.S. Overall, NBK didn't get even a smile out of me, let alone chuckle - disappointing film.
P.P.S. Drew looks like she's been through 3 rehabs before appearing in this, not like someone who could go for a 17 YO.

I disagree. Yes, most of the time popular kids are also attractive. But you can also be popular by association. I noticed that a LOT in school. Elementary, Middle, and High School. There was quite a few large&unattractive boys & girls that were popular because they had hot friends who tolerated them. In my opinion, I think you're wrong. I didn't see any of the "popular" kids in this movie that were NOT attractive. Maybe not YOUR idea of attractive, but none were ugly and I'm pretty sure most people can agree James Franco and Jeremy Jordan were very handsome in this movie.

Aldys, however, certainly LOOKED like she could have been popular, but she was so extremely gangly and skinny that she fit into the "nerd" role well. Even then popular girls had some more curves (boobs more than butt back then, but still), she was built like a boy. Other than that, I really don't see what you mean at all. I mean really, do you think James Franco, Jeremy Jordan, and JESSICA ALBA ~DIDN'T~ look popular/the popular type? That's crazy to me.
