Monty Python Film Festival in Middletown, PA, USA

Hello fellow Python Fans!

I'm the Director of Development for the Elks Theatre, a small cinema in Middletown, PA in the USA. In need of converting to digital projection in the next year, we've started a repertory program at our theater to show classic films multiple times a month as fundraising screenings. As one of our major festivals, we've decided to establish a regular PYTHON FEST, showing HOLY GRAIL, LIFE OF BRIAN, and MEANING OF LIFE the first of which will begin on separate weekends beginning January 11th.

Below is our press release so you can learn all about it:

Elks Theatre to present a ‘PYTHON FEST’

December 18, 2012 – Middletown, PA – What better way to celebrate the New Year than experience something completely different? This January rewind to medieval Europe and join King Arthur’s quest for The Holy Grail, cautiously observe the Life of Brian, and discover The Meaning of Life all in 35mm only at The Elks Theatre!

SAVE THE ELKS!, a capital campaign for digital projection at the Elks Theatre in Middletown, will host the very silly Monty Python trilogy from January 11th through the 27th. Following the success of the first two films of the Elks’ new repertory program, John Carpenter’s The Thing and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, the festival will serve as the campaign’s next public fundraising event.

Dubbed the ‘1st… whenever… Python Fest,’ this will be the first of a recurring presentation of the classic comedies that will return again annually or perhaps more frequently depending on popularity. The festival commences on Friday, January 11th, 2013, with a midnight screening of Monty Python and The Holy Grail, while Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life will begin their weekend with a midnight screening on January 18th and January 25th, respectively.

Tickets are available for each show individually and for those wanting to see all three films, patrons can purchase a pass. Discounts will be given to the costumed on the midnight screenings of Holy Grail and Life of Brian. Tickets will be available at elksmovies.com and at the theater during regular business hours beginning Friday, December 21st.

FILM/SHOWTIME Friday/Midnight Saturday/8pm Sunday/5pm
Holy Grail January 11th January 12 January 13
Life of Brian January 18th January 19th January 20th
Meaning of Life January 25th January 26th January 27th

This special SAVE THE ELKS! festival will benefit the Greater Middletown Economic Development Corporation’s campaign to install a vital digital projection system and new art deco marquee. Over the next year, SAVE THE ELKS! aims to raise $200k and establish the Elks as the premiere repertory cinema in central Pennsylvania. The Elks Theatre is located at 4 W. Emaus Street, Middletown, PA 17057. The movie theater is 101 years old this year and is only the cinema in the area with a serpentine balcony.
