Why can't I get more people to like this movie???

I really liked it! Maybe I'm alone in this. It just pays homage to all the classic gore horror flicks. Lucio Fulci springs to mind.
Does anyone know if there's an uncut version? Some of the death scenes seem to be lacking frames... especially the horn through head bit...
I must say that the poster for it on this site is awful... The english DVD cover is brilliantly designed. Whats with the green monster thing in the background on that poster?
I've showed this film to a lot of people but most of them didn't like it.
Mainly because they didn't understand the ending. How do other people out there interpret it?

I absolutely loved this film. The atmosphere in it is terrifying, especially when the first victim dies. You have no idea what's going on. Then, acid burns that guy's face off in the shower, then his head's rammed into the sink. But perhaps the most terrifying scene in the movie is when that woman gets her eyes rammed into that deer's antlers. The music in this film is so scary that I nearly turned it off.

That damn faceless killer walking towards you with cut scenes....
Scared me too.... And that's pretty hard...
Know any other good horror films? Recent that is...

I love this movie. It freaked the hell out of me!! Especially the scene with the deer antlers.

I don't know... I gave this movie a chance. And don't get me wrong, I love slasher movies and horror flicks but I really, really didn't like this movie. I thought the characters were really annoying and the acting wasn't very good. I felt kinda cheated by the whole camera thing. They never really expanded on that idea and they should have played off it alot more. Also, the production values were pretty crappy. I respect everyone else's opinions but idk this is honestly one of the worst slashers I have seen in a long time.

kewlguy51, I dont really understand your comments - Can you give an example of a similar film that you think compares better to this one?

By the way, could you just take a few moments to read my signature . . . Thanks.

It's one of my favourite movies. I totally love every second of it. I watch it loads. Maybe it's just us lol. The english dvd is far far better i agree. That US one looks like a bad porn flick lol.

nrbarton...... sounds like it should mean 'near barton'.... which freaks me out! I live in a village called 'Earls Barton'!

Can't understand why people think the acting is cheesy.... thought that was the whole point.... they're there to impress the cameras and be OTT.

What other movies you like?

Actually it's worth pointing out that the scene you think is from Fulci's classic ZFE is more likely a nod to a cameo star in Kolobos.

Near the beginning of the film we see Linnea Quigley with Amy Weber on a porch before she is picked up to go to the house.

Linnea was pierced on antlers in the 1984 shocker 'Silent Night, Deadly Night'.
Famous modern age scream queen is Linnea.

Didn't know that about Linea, nearly bought that movie the other day for a couple of quid, bought Zombie Apocalypse instead though.

Anyhow, Kolobos is one of my fav horror films EVER. I dont understand the people who say the acting is bad? I know my movies, and the acting in this movie is not bad at all. I've seen some films with some REAL bad acting - try the black lady who works in the quicky mart type shop right near the beginning of 'The Mutilator' NOW that is bad acting! (Has anyone else on here seen the woman I am talking about? She says something about another 1 being bron every second when the college guy thinks he's worked out a stea;/deal on the cans of larger on special offer). She had me laughing, you could see her reading her lines and looking at the people behind the camera. Or what about 'Skinned Alive' a sort of John Waters looking horror film - that old lady in that is so baaaaad!

Totally with you on this.

A lot of people seem to be quite down on this film but I simply don't see the problem.

It's decent homage to 70's and 80's Euro horror, it was unashamedly original for it's year and it has plenty of gore. What else does it need to be??

Those Fulci-esque bits later on where all the audio tracks except one of the female character's voices were removed were totally sinister.

Freaky and fun.

Thumbs up.

Stuart-Bell-1 I totally agree, this film is fantastic, the atmosphere is to die for and the ending is a proper head twister, I just think a lot of people didn't actually give much thought to the ending, if you thknk about it the ending is very clear and makes total sense, but it is still the creepiest ending to a horror movie I've ever seen and that just made me fall in love with this movie.

Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular.
