No idea if that was historically correct (used as a weapon), but it looked like a lot of effort to kill on person (and hopefully there would be at least one person standing directly in front of it).

shareAs described by a previous poster, I don't know what we see is historical or not, but . . .?!if it is historical, it'd be impossible for someone not to stand in front of the hole that the big ball comes out of, as the moat would be filled with men storming the castle. Which scene could not be filmed that way for the protection of the people in that scene.
What I also missed from that scene is, where are all the grappling hooks going up along the walls, which then would be used by the men to climb the walls into the castle?
