Really great

Harmagedon was an incredibly lavious piece of anime filmmaking. Much like Macross: Do You Remember Love?, the animation was years ahead of its time. But it was so consistently moody and intense (especially that musical score) that I wished they could've tried to lighten things up once in a while. Except for Luna, the characters were rather dull. But overall, a truly great film - well deserving of the title of an anime classic.

P.S. The dark alley scene was parodied in Project A-Ko. It's also interesting to note that cut scenes from the movie were used in an obscure coin operated arcade game called Bega (Vega) Battle during the 80's.

I just finished watching it tonight. The animation is amazing, even for today's standards. Unfortunately, the plot made no sense at all and the dubbing was horrendous at some points. I'm going to watch it subtitled eventually, but I currently don't think of it as a great or classic anime film.

Is the show "Heroes" a blatant rip-off of this movie? People from around the world suddenly get powers so they can fight some villain. Sound familiar? All the best American TV and movie ideas are stolen from anime!

I think I never was so bored by an anime. The plot was so dull, and it was very badly paced. And the march with the animals...
