Quite probably the best film ever made

It's amazing that a film made in Sweden is so spot on with its portrayal of the crappy monotony of provincial teenage life even to someone who lives in England.
Everything about this film is fantastic, it isnt just about lesbianism, its so much more. I'm amazed an adult director could capture teenage life so accurately, this is fantastic. Fully worthy of at least a Top 10 placing on the IMDB 250.

Well I agree, I also think its one of the best films ever made.

Maybe it's not the best film if you talk about technique,
but it's the movie that touched me the most. Ever.
I will always remember this movie and I think that is the most important.

I love F... Amal!!!!

Why the *beep* shouldn't swedish movies be allowed in TOP 250? Use some common sense man, jeez.

I saw this movie for a few days ago. It's not the best technically, but it really touches you and you can relate to it. I can especially, since I am Swedish, teen, and I live in a tiny village which only has a daycare center, a church, an antique shop and a few houses. Fun.

I completely agree. I related to the suffocating smalltown atmosphere, the shallowness and the boring everyday routine of teenage life. Those scenes at the party, with everyone drinking too much or doing small talk just for the sake of it. They weren't doing anything special and everyone wasn't falling in love at first sight or getting a date or even having a decent time, like they do in so many "teen films". It's as prosaic as real life.

I also liked how the characters know and accept that life is the way it is, even though they want to rebel against it.

Best film ever made? I think you need to go out and search for better things still.

Hmm, I don't really believe that one can say a certain movie is the best ever made - I mean who could really say that? For me, the way I gauge movies being something quite special (like how I feel about this movie) and worth watching repeatedly is if it had something about it that transcends the quality of it's production, writing/story, acting, etc. I think for me, I would place a movie like this on my top 5 best movie ever list because it has touched me in an emotional level - that something about this movie does something to me - it rings true - I actually feel something for this film. I mean there are a lot of near perfect films out there but how do you place one before the other? I think that last deciding factor, the tie-breaker if you will, is the emotional factor and that depends on the person watching. Hope I made sense, but I certainly do love this movie.
