I am so *beep* pissed...!

The main character is so annoying! I don't feel bad for her at all because she has made herself so invicible.
She ruin the other chicks life and my god i feel sooo bad for Johan!
Johan was awesome and she played him and with his feelings just to protect her stupid, wannabe reputation....

JOHAN HULT FOR THE WIN!!!

Elin really tried to fall in love with Johan, didn't use him. No lives were ruined.

First of all Johan was a douche bag. Second, she did not ruin Agnes life. Third, she did not do it to protect her reputation. She did it because society (even progressive Sweden, which I admire) can be so damn bigoted. Many gay people, if not most, try to pretend they are not gay and be something they are not, before reality makes that impossible.

How was Johan a douche, he loved her. She was using him for companionship.

I disagree. No character in the movie is perfect. They all have problems.

Johan's main problem is that he doesn't stand up for himself. He's too insecure. For example in the scene discussing if girls can handle technology his friend and Elin have two different opinions, and he can't choose whether to side with his friend or his girlfriend, so when Elin asks what he thinks he just says "I don't know".

It's not that he's trying to hurt anyone, or that he's indifferent, but rather that he's trying to please everyone, which doesn't work, and that is effectively shown in the scene mentioned above.

I wish I've seen this great movie sooner. I would say Elin was confused how she felt and had doubts of what she should feel. I think she did use Johan to cover who she loved but not only to others but to herself. She tried to the point of losing her virginity to him but then she realised it did not change how she felt for Agnes. Johan was nice and cute but no backbone and that made him less attractive to Elin. Elin was different from her sister and friends in a way as she did state she did not want to be like everyone else. With Agnes not only was she attracted physically but it was the token that she can be herself and be happy and not have to be spineless for others. I guess that is what love is.

Johan wasn't the brightest kid, but he meant well. This movie is all about peer pressure, and Johan couldn't stand up for himself when he kept following Markus around like a puppy dog. We've all seen friendships like these growing up.
