Mainly because it was so boring, yeah it is a serious documentary but it was just boring. And what is with that guys picture on the cover, thats a bit exploitative in my view. The narrater just talked on and on in a boring voice.

Executions is contemptable crap.

I actually kind of agree with you. It bored me while I was watching it, but the death penalty is something I feel really stongly about so I stuck with it. The last few scenes changed my mind entirely about the film, especially the very last one (invloving the man on the cover). It's not exploitative once you see it. I really do think you should get hold of it and just watch the last scene if that's all, but it's not easy to watch.
