Why isn't this on DVD?

Does anyone know when and if it is? And if so, why it hasn't yet?

Anybody?

Closure is Not on DVD. When I finally bought/found this tape. I had asked if it was on DVD and the person at the store (Virgin Mega Store) had told me, it was never made for DVD, only for VHS.
Yeah, I would had liked for it to have been on DVD b/c I find this material to be great but it's not on DVD. And it sucks to rewind and fast foreward.

and also hopefully in the future...Trent can do us a favor and put Closure on DVD...it would help us (the people who are actually updated with our technology and own DVD players, as many of us should at least own by now) greatly. B/c like I said before, that rewind and fast foreward bullsh-t is a bit annoying to me.

Here's my guess; Trent's doing other things at the moment. If you wanted Closure on DVD right now it would basically be just a greatest hits video album with a documentary on it. Mr. Rez is working on the new album, bleedthrough, and probably doing other things, like tapeworm which got locked up in red tape, causes delays. Producing a DVD like AATCHB took months and months to get things just right. Sure, Closure was already recorded, but making a DVD out of it isn't as simple as Philips/Magnavox would like you to believe. Well, yeah it would be easy to just copy the tape to DVD, but if Trent wanted to do a Closure DVD, I'm sure he'd want to focus on getting it all organized the way he wants it, possibly remastering the videos, maybe adding other footage he had to cut out of the original Closure and making essentially a "Closure Special Edition DVD" with redone special effects and a few suprises (like a dewback walking through during Hurt). But seriously, I think it's as simple as "he's busy, he'll get to it when he wants to."

And on a personal note, I have Closure and the DVD version of AATCHB but I'd rather see a new DVD with all the videos from The Fragile, like that pesky We're in this Together Now video that I've only seen low-res videos on the net of because MTV and VH1 suck ass, and maybe a full-cut version of The Day the World Went Away (the footage they had was cool to start with, but they scrapped), and the Into the Void video that they played, what, 7 times on MTV? You know, just before they went to the 24/7 Real World/Road Rules/Cribs/Jackass format?

Anyway... it's kind of like how the original Star Wars trilogy isn't on DVD yet.. because George Lucas is busy taking a dump on the franchise, he wants to finish Episode III before organizing all the "bonus material" for the originals and make a killing off of those crazy Lord-of-the-Ringsesque 9-DVD box sets with enough bonus footage to keep a die-hard Star Wars geek out of daylight for a month and a half.

I know it kinda sucks not having a DVD of Closure (my VCR's cable input is broken, so if I want to hook it up, I have to switch cables around and that's a real pain in the ass just to watch a movie), but we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

It was told in 2003 that this will see the light of day on dvd, it just is being pushed back like all trent projects *cough* tapeworm 8 years and counting. Odds are it will be out in 2004 around the same time as the new tour so he can kick start people agian into good music.

Well according to buy.com, it'll come out 12/31/2004 with remastered sound. I haven't seen this news anywhere else so I wouldn't get too excited yet, but it looks legit to me. Here's the exact site http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=40160516&dcaid=1688

Recently on the nin.com website, trent has been answering questions about the new album and future releases and it says, i quote "meanwhile, we're releasing two other items this fall. the long-awaited closure dvd will finally see the light of day - with extra content, and the downward spiral deluxe edition, a two disc package remastered, remixed in 5.1 and more."

But then again, we all know how bad Trent is at keeping his promises!

Does anybody know if the 'Closure' DVD will it be released on DVD in the UK? I've seen it on video and it's very cool. The 'And all that could have been' DVD was released over here, and I'd love to carry on completing my 'Halo' collection with something worth while rather than with old remix singles.

Soon enough, Due to law-suits Closure will be out in early 2005.

Why are you comparing this to Star Wars? How is trent taking a dump on his franchise if he is being like George Lucas? Come on man, be liberal. The Fragile was awesome and Trent is still alive and kicking. I'm also a Lucas fan and will tell you the same thing. I'm sure you will throw a fit if he finds an alternate video for Head Like A Hole, and includes that and not the original., plus, you know that something might be altered. I'm sorry but when an artist tries new things its because they are trying not to repeat themselves. When you repeat, you either not that talented to make different works or you are selling out to the audience. George Lucas is not selling out and neither is Trent. I'm sorry if you don't like anything after the Downward Spiral or Return of the Jedi. I can see the comparison, though, Lucas and Reznor are indeed geniouses, but they work according to themselves, not others. They are true artists that do what they feel, rather than what the fans demand.

trent said the reason that closure has not been released on dvd yet is because he's still having problems with john malm jr who was his manager he had problems with... and it seems he still is having problems.

I hope I'm not breaking any rules, but here's a clue.
