Wow, magnificent movie--this cast is better though

Great story. Great movie, but I think it could have been a mainstream big hit with this alternate cast -

Tom(Jason London)- Leonardo DiCaprio
Jimmy(Todd Field)- Joaquin Phoenix
Susy(meth girl)- Brittany Murphy
Gramps- Jack Nicholson
The Boss- (instead of chinese, african american) -Samuel L. Jackson

Not saying Field and London did bad but with such a great story behind the movie I feel it could have easily went mainstream.

This movie could have gone mainstream, and it would have been horrible. For proof, all we need to do is look at your cast suggestions, which make me cringe (with the exception of Nicholson as Gramps).

I think Todd Field and Jason London were perfect here, and I'm glad this movie didn't aim for the megaplex. It's not the type of subject matter that would have been embraced by mainstream audiences anyway.

With all due respect, "Broken Vessels" is fine as it is.
