The acting

Did anyone else think that the only ones who did a 100% good job on their character was Leigh Lewis as Helen Hannah, and David Roddis as Len Parker? She was amazing, and so was he as the villan. Richard Nester as Bronson Pearl was okay, but a little over reactant, maybe too dramatic, but everyone else besides those two sort of acted like they were just first timers and barely knew how to act (and they pretty much were like that) but very rarely did anyone else do 100% good except for those two. But also, with the rest of the series, did anyone else think they got better as they went along? I love the Apocalypse series. It's the best end times drama there is.

I know I am mighty late with this post, but I agree with you. With this movie I thought only Leigh Lewis was any good. David Parker was a ham most of the time, but everyone else sucked. Richard Nester was so over the top and, I don't know about you, but if I was in the middle of what was to be WWIII, I would have a stronger sense of urgency in my live reports! Instead, you'd think he was speaking about online sex predators on Dateline NBC!!! And don't you expect that there would be more reporters in the area with something like that going down? I know it's low budget, but come on!!!

The movies did get progressively better thanks to better budgets, and even moreso, better actors. Especially Nick Mancuso as Franco Macalusso - he was a giant step-up from Sam Bornstein who's in this one.

From a secular point of view I thought this movie was way too heavy-handed in preaching "the word". Geez, knock me over the head with a bible why don't ya!

With the numerous music montages (almost like listening to a Time-Life CD ad), and the over-the-top movie score (notice music as Franco reports himself as the messiah), I found myself cringing quite a bit through this movie.

Oh, I did say the acting was bad, right?

Ok, bottom line:

If you're a "Jesus freak" and love the Van Impe couple's show - uh, well...... frankly, you've probably already seen this and is awaiting the HD version.

If you're a church-going Christian looking for decent entertainment designed specifically for you, skip this big time and check out the sequels instead.

Everyone else (secular, spiritual-but-not-religious, atheist, etc.) - the sequels are not half bad, but this movie is - in fact, it's much worse! Avoid this one at all cost!!!!

I am a christian and I do attend church regularly. Not only that but I do also watch secular movies regularly and I liked this movie because it had a realy low budget thing going on and I like that because sometimes movies just seem more real that way. All the sequals are great as well.
