How many versions?

I watched this series for the first time few weeks ago on Czech TV. Mouths of the characters were moving and the cat was called Fred. I liked the show, so I bought a DVD from UK (Pat in the Muddle), and the mouths of the characters were not moving, and the cat is called Jess in there. I guess none of these are original version from 1981. So are there more than 2 versions of this show (except for 1981 and 2004), actually? Could anyone explain to me please? Thanks!

There are essentially two versions of the show. The original 1981 series was quite basic, with no moving mouths. Most of the dialogue was narration and it was quite slow paced.
In 2004 the new series was released which featured moving mouths, more sets and vehicles, and all talking characters. The makers did use the old original props ,locations and puppets, though some were slightly updated and cleaned up.
In both series the cat is called Jess, though for foreign markets his name might be changed? The series has different titles in different countries, see wikipedia for details.
