Excalibur vs USS Enterprise

Lets face it, the Excalibur would PULVERIZE the USS Enterprise. One and a half miles long and tons of firepower. Heck, the Excalibur might even give an Imperial Star Destroyer a bad day.

I agree. The only ship even comparable to the Excalibur in the Star Trek universe was Shinzon's ship Scimitar. And it's too bad Shinzon didn't pulverize The Enterprise when by all rights, it should have.

You need to check out star wrek!

If the main gun is based on Vorlon tech, then the Excalibur represents a massive leap over fed weaponary. It has some sort of specialised armour that can absorb energy attacks, so phasers would be useless.

Not sure how well it would stand up to 470 megaton equiv. Quantum torpedoes.

What exactly would prevent the Enterprise from just teleporting the Excalibur crew into space?

Starfleet morality. heh.

But seriously, this. Starfleet might build their ships smaller and less heavily armed than what you see in many other sci-fi franchises, leading many to assume they'd get pulverized, but technology-wise, strategically used transporters could re-balance a lot of those contests. Beam aboard and detonate a few torpedoes in vital areas, and you could reduce the Excalibur (or a Star Wars super star destroyer, or Halo's UNSC Infinity, or a Farscape Peacekeeper command carrier, or a Stargate city-ship, or a Battlestar, or any other vessel whose shields- if any- weren't configured to block a transporter beam) to a crippled, lobotomized target practice dummy.

No matter how big a gun your opponent brings to a fight, the ability to teleport a grenade inside your opponent's brain or heart- provided you can survive long enough to use it- trumps firepower. And I think the smaller Starfleet ships would be able to evade all those bigger ships' fire (if not soak it with their shields) long enough to use that ability if their own weapons couldn't inflict the necessary damage to win. Though that would be a shame, because I love all those ships and I'd rather see them work together than fight each other.

Just like the Asgard folks from Stargate: their techs are advanced but they don't really focus on weaponry.
