where are they now?

Are the cast members still in showbusiness?

I recently saw Pat Cashman in a commercial for Taco Time.

In your face, Space Coyote!

I've only seen a few of them around, so here's what I know.

Assuming that you live in Seattle:

Pat Cashman: Besides what was mwntioned, he's done radio/TV ads/and an infomercial for Pierre Money Mart.

John Keister: Hosts Almost Live! Back at'cha on King 5, after Sunday Nights, after Sunday Night Football and the Mike Holmgren Show. Shows best of Almost Live skits and he has done editorials for a talk show on KCTS 9 called KCTS Connects

Nancy Guppy: Does shorts and promos for KCTS 9, as well as once part of Ichibod Caine's morning show called "Ichibod Caine and the Waking Crew", doing the traffic reports on KMPS 94.1FM from 5am-9. She did that for about 2 years and she left in early 2006.

Steve Wilson: Director for KOMO 4's afternoon show, "Northwest Afternoon" and is the voice host of "The Buzz" (Entertainment report) for KOMO News at 4.

Joel McHale: Done commercials for Burger King and the host of E!'s Talk Soup. It looks like he's filming a movie now.

That's all I know for now; WIll add more when I know.

Didn't Joel end up in Spider-Man 2? I know, I oculd just check that here on IMDB...

John Keister is teaching a comedic acting class of some sort at the Art Institute of Seattle.

I got tired of waiting for the show to come out on DVD so I recorded my own. I bought a Panasonic DVD harddrive recorder last January and I have managed to collect and edit (out the ads) for around 230 episodes on 38 disks so far with 6 episodes on each dvd. Now I can get my Almost Live! Fix anytime I want. I have to warn you thought, I'm a heavy user now and the more I watch, the more I need. Just a note on the new "Almost Live! Back Atcha" shows that run after the Seahawk Coach Mike show. Most of these are cut short because the Mike show runs late and Back Atcha is put in as a time filler for this purpose.

Great!! If you have the "Ballard Vice" skits and the "Ballard Vice; The Movie" short, as well as the "UIncle Buzz" skits, you're good to go!!!!

Ballard Vice was some of the best skits Almost Live! ever made.

reply

"Ballard Vice" & "Uncle Buzz" are both in my collection (somewhere). When I recorded the episodes they were not in the order that they were made. I have made several copies of this entire (40 disk) collection and gave out a few as Christmas presents. I still have quite a few complete collection copies for future gift giving. Now that they will only be airing the reruns of the show once a week (down from 6 times a week) I will have to go back in and start viewing my collection from the begining and cataloging it's contents. Send me a private message if your looking for any information on any skit's and I will see if I can find anything on it.

I know this is an old thread, but KING has cast updates on the Reunion Show page. Mind you, it was written in 2005 but at least it's something.

The cast of Almost Live! has been very busy since the show went off the air in 1999.

- John Keister is currently a motivational and keynote speaker, as well as a popular emcee.

- Pat Cashman is a keynote speaker, a popular emcee and auctioneer, an advertising writer for TV and radio, and a regular guest host on KING 5’s Evening Magazine. In addition, Cashman is about to publish his first book of humorous essays.

- Tracey Conway and Bill Stainton are both popular keynote speakers, both nationally and internationally. Tracey has also been published in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, while Bill has written a business/leadership book on the success secrets of the Beatles.

- Nancy Guppy is the creator/host/producer of City a Go Go, a television show on The Seattle Channel and KCTS, promoting the Seattle arts scene.

- Bob Nelson has become a successful Hollywood scriptwriter.

- Steve Wilson continues to direct, write and produce in the Seattle market while also an emcee and public speaker.

- Joel McHale is now the host of E! Network’s The Soup and he also had a featured role in Spiderman 2.

I know a couple of years ago Bob was writing a screenplay called Nebraska but I'm not sure where that stands now. I believe there was some issue with getting development backing.

Evening did an interview piece with Joel that aired just a couple weeks ago.

I grew up near Steve, and his dad was our family's dentist. I remember how excited my mom was for him when he got his first job at KING, and she'd watch for him at the end of the 11:00 PM news every night. He was the guy sweeping the floor off to the side as the camera pulled back and the lights went off.

Most of them are doing stuff in Seattle area like Theater and TV.
Pat Cashman does commercials for Taco Time.
Joel McHale host the TV show "The Soup" on the "E" channel out of LA.
If you watch Joel's program you will see the Almost Live flavor of Humor just pouring out of him.

2013-John Keister, Pat Cashman & Cashman's son are in the new Seattle based sketch comedy show "The 206", airing at 1:05 am on King 5, right after SNL. The show will run through Jan. May be picked up again in spring depending on ratings. They have a Facebook page.

As of the 2014 Oscars, Bob Nelson is now an Academy Award-nominated screenwriter for a nominee for Best Picture (Nebraska). Not bad!!
