JUST BELIEVE

Okay my father has been sick for quite some time now and during the show they pray for people. I prayed for my father who has migranes quite often and the host said something about a man middle-aged with migranes. I believed and now he feels a lot better. Just believe in miracles and God, he and fix your life. Seriously.

reply

I believed in miracles and god and nothing good happened.

I tried. No good.

I'm not prejudiced. I hate all stupid people.

Don't get me wrong, I am a firm believer in Christ, but you're kinda coming across the wrong way. It's as if you're saying, just pray, and your wildest dreams will come true. Don't only pray for self benefit. People still go through trials and tribulation. Some get better, some don't

reply

I done prayed me up a T.V., and by golly, on Christmas mornin' Jesus done gave me one!

I keep praying that Robertson, that big-eared grinning psychotic freak will die in the middle of a show, but it doesn't work.

No, no - Pillage first, then burn! Stupid Vikings...

reply

Yeah, kinda funny how good stuff happens to other people instead of you isnt it??? And I think god has better things to do than watch the 700 Club to see who to heal.

Woah woah woah, NO! The results weren't about even. Actually, those who were prayed for actually did worse, or DIED. That can mean several things. I think it means that those who were prayed for (knowingly) gave up by relying on an invisible sky daddy to fix everything

reply

Look, migranes go away. If everyone who has migranes prayed to the invisible sky wizard, a.k.a. your god, only a few people would get better (just by chance). Of course those who prayed who got better prayed to god, but also, a vast majority of those who did pray did not get better. It is childish and selfish to believe that god exclusively healed your father. It is DANGEROUS to rely on the 'powers' of a supernatural being b/c it takes away from people, like you, the willingness to work hard.

Don't forget the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

FSM for the win!

reply

Just pay regular tribute (in the form of baked goods) to the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and you won't get sick to begin with.

In Rambo, a man is shot by a bullet from a gun and dies as a result

reply

I hope he likes French Baguettes. I'll go bake some up later today in His Honour. In the name of the flour, the sun and the brewery spirits, let's all enjoy.

reply

If god answers prayers, why then do amputees NEVER get healed?

And "Oh that's just a blatant use of his power" isn't an answer.

Neither is "Their faith isn't strong enough" because if you lost your leg, it wouldn't magically grow back, seeing as how you have so much of this so-called faith.

reply

I'm with Rational Skeptic on this one. Your claim that an invisible deity used magic (possibly derived from his awesome God-beard) to cure your migraines doesn't make any sense. What made you so special as to warrant personal attention from the alleged creator of the universe? What about people of faith who pray and never have their prayers answered?

As Skeptic said, "their faith isn't strong enough" isn't an answer. I've known plenty of people of very deep religious conviction who have prayed and seen absolutely no results. So how does that work? Does God just close his eyes, spin around, and point to determine whose prayers he's going to answer? Is watching "The 700 Club" necessary to get God's attention? Where people who lived before Pat Robertson just screwed from the get-go? Is individual suffering all part of "God's great plan", and if he *does* have a great plan for all people and things, why bother praying at all? It's not like you're going to change his mind!

"Just believe" is stupid advice because there's NO REASON to believe. Your assertion that God answered your prayers and cured your migraines makes no sense at all unless God is just a total jerkface that only cares about a very small percentage of the population he supposedly created.

Please try thinking logically about what you believe. If you do, you'll realize that you're lying to yourself. That's no way to be.

reply

There is no 'invisible deity" who uses "magic".

What we want isn't always what we need. Some deaths bring a greater purpose for those around them.

Take your own advice, especially if you're trolling.

Gentleness is not weakness. It is strength under control.

reply

Okay, fine. Lots of people believe. And some prayers do get answered. But not by watching this show and washing down that belief with a big heapin' helpin' of narrowmindedness and homophobia. Seriously.

"They're all gonna laugh at you! They're all gonna laugh at you!

reply

There's no such thing as homophobia because God makes no one a homosexual. Don't be deceived by Satan.

I belong to Jesus: my Lord, Savior, my eternity, my everything. I love you, Jesus!

Repeating your lie doesn't make it stop being a lie.

Our first assignment is a documentary, they're like real movies but with ugly people.

Grow up already.

And of course, talk God, and the intolerant bigot, radical atheist sheep come out to play. Don't have a life and form your own opinions based on your observations- just believe what the media and other radicals tell you to believe and shut your eyes and sing LALALALALALALALACAN'THEARYOU whenever someone says something you don't like, guys. That's the way to go.

My dad once prayed for my wisdom tooth to stop hurting so bad and for the swelling to go down (I couldn't even close my mouth all the way, it was so bad), and a little bit later, the swelling went down and I felt fine. I had taken some numbing gel for teeth but the stuff wasn't meant to fix the swelling, and when I used it earlier, it hardly worked. That wasn't a coincidence at all, nor is it the first time prayers here have been answered.

And besides, everything single thing you pray for isn't gonna be what you need or what you'll get. People who act like God is a genie with limitless wishes to grant and then get angry when they discover He isn't have to be the most selfish, immature people.

Gentleness is not weakness. It is strength under control.

reply

Beautiful testimony to the power of our Lord.

reply

I'm sorry but God has nothing to do with what happened to you.
