A movie honoring this man is shocking to me..

It's like making a movie about Osama Bin Laden and pawning it off as "the honorable story of a great man." Winchell was a lying, dishonorable, depicable piece of trash... a true scumbag.

Any man who accused servicemen in the war of refusing to fight and being communists, even as they suffered in combat (something Winchell never did) deserved to die a recluse, which is what he was by 1972.

Thumbs down.

Did you watch this film? Winchell does not come across as honorable or great here – just very crafty.

Was he ever in the service? They show him in a Navy officer's uniform at one point and nowhere can I find anything to verify he served in the 2nd World War.
