KISS isn't all about the show...

I thought Unplugged proved to the world that KISS is more than make-up and pyro. For the most part, the songs translated very well to acustic guitars, with the one exeption being Domino. That song was out of place and was never meant to be de-electrified. I don't know if that's even a word! After watching this, any music fan must agree that yes, the songs are pretty good, too.

KISS unplugged was amazing, especially I still love you which usually is an allright song, but unplugged Paul gives it all. truly amazing

ACTUALLY DOMINO SOUNDED ALRIGHT UNPLUGGED.I JUST THOUGHT THEY SHOULD HAVE PLAYED SOME MORE HITS.THE ONE MISTAKE THEY MADE AND I KNOW PAUL THOUGHT ABOUT CHANGING IT LAST MINUTE WAS TO INCLUDE FOREVER IN THERE.THEY SHOULD HAVE PLAYED THAT OVER THE WIMPY EVERY TIME I LOOK AT YOU.I MEAN THEY TRIED FOR A WHILE TO PASS THAT OFF AS REPLACING FOREVER,BUT IT WAS A WEAK SONG.I REMEMBER MEETING PAUL AND FANS ASKED HIM WHY THEY DIDN'T PLAY FOREVER,AND HE SAID I KNOW WE PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT ONE.HE ALSO SAID SOME FANS ASKED WHY THEY DIDN'T PLAY CHRISTINE 16,DETROIT ROCK CITY,CALLING DR. LOVE,LOVE GUN, AND SHOUT IT OUT LOUD UNPLUGGED TOO.NOW THOSE SONGS WOULD HAVE SOUNDED KOOL UNPLUGGED.HE DID SAY THEY TRIED TO DO NEW YORK GROOVE WITH ACE,BUT THEY JUST COULDN'T GET IT TO SOUND RIGHT.

They were intentionally playing more obscure songs (not including Beth)

I love the fact that they were playing mostly obscurities. Kiss has dozens of overlooked gems such as "Comin' Home," "Goin' Blind" and "See You Tonight," and the unplugged set gave them the perfect forum for them. Of course, they had to do "Beth" and "Rock and Roll All Nite," which sounded excellent acoustic but have suffered from overexposure in my opinion.
