Incredible cast... Great plot and story... Complex themes that don't get in the way of fun, rather enhance it... and above all... the best kills! The suspense! It's thrilling...

I watched DBS again for the third time. Jaws is far away the best shark and horror film. It is head and shoulders above the rest. While the action in DBS is awesome and it has one of the best shark attack scenes of all time (no spoilers), I have to put it at #2. The dumb story line and a few nonsensical scenes brings it down. Jaws 2 isn't a great movie, but it has enough going for it to be #3. You would think someone would be able to make a shark film that beats DBS and Jaws 2 with their middling ratings, but so far they haven't. Is there other shark movies that are worthy of beating these two movies or being a contender?

Yeah, Jaws will always be the classic shark movie, but Deep Blue Sea is just so much fun!
I'm surprised there haven't been more, good quality shark movies... I suppose the heavy reliance on CGI held these movies back for about 15 years, but CGI is probably good enough now for a mid budget movie to use in conjunction with other non-CGI effects...
Yeah, but who cares about Jaws 2? It was an average sequel.
And Deep Blue Sea is just a completely stupid film. Can only be enjoyed as a guilty pleasure.
