Anyone else just REALLY love this movie!?

I've loved this movie since I was a kid. And no it isn't nostalgia, because many of the movies I saw as a child, I now cringe over. Sure, DBS is cheesy as hell, but why is that bad? This film is so addictive and fun, I seriously can't get enough. I showed a friend of mine recently who fully agreed, thank *beep*. Someone to watch it with for a change!

Like I won't say this is even CLOSE to a masterpiece... but I get so much enjoyment from it, I can't help but give it 5/5 stars. It's just insanely fun and carries a lot of charm in it.

I won't say the film deserves more than a 7.0/10 on here, but is it honestly worth a 5.8? Because that's low af. I'd say 6.8 is more appropriate. Is there anyone that sees this film in the same, insanely fun way?

Agreed. It's a fun film.

Totally agree. I gave it a 9/10 because I can rewatch it whenever it's on TV, and that means something. (Another one is 'Murder at 1600' with Wesley Snipes).

Also, I love the last scene when the preacher asks 'you sure there were only three of them ?' and Carter's reaction to it lol.

Murder At 1600! I'll check that one out.

I love his reaction haha. Adds to the charm of the movie.

Same here, I remember watching it as a kid and looking for it online years later because I somehow remembered it. Love it!

Agreed! Deep Blue Sea has always been one of those films that has maintains a rewatchability factor of fun. By all means it is not some great film, but it never tried to be. It was a pop-corn flick 90's movie that had a decent plot and very good characters.

Thomas Jane, Saffron Burrows, LL Cool J, Rappaport, Samuel L -- all of them turned in good performances given the movie material.

I've always had a soft spot for the film, even more so today than when it came out. I think some of my bias my stem from liking Cool J's rap song (of which I still listen to) and really liking Saffron Burrows back in those days. Plus, Thomas Jane has always been an under the radar favorite of mine.

I put this movie in the same echelon as Ghosts of Mars (though DBS is of higher quality), Wing Commander (Saffron Burrows, again!), and Congo. I love those types of movies you can only find in the 90's era.

I do.. I'm tired of ever movie being compared to Jaws.

I totally agree, everytime it's on tv I can't help it, I must see it again no matter how many times now .
VERY awfully underrated movie.
