seen it?

Has anyone seen this movie? If so, Can you tell me what you think of it? I think I am gonna buy it from the official site.

I have. It's a great movie. It comes out Tuesday on dvd. For those who give a bad review on the film ignore them. People who don't have an open mind or take the time find out about the film. The ending is not the ending they were going to do originaly. Right before the last week of shooting they told Vin Diesel that they ran out of money and had only one more day to shoot. So Diesel went home and reworked the script so the movie could be finished.

Just watched it last night. It was OK for what it was. That was my biggest complaint, the ending. I was left feeling like "what...." But, It was OK.

@ Xhilaration2306 ...

i just got done watching it for the first time a few minutes ago and...

i think i gotta agree with you overall. cause i was sorta felt like you felt with the ending. (it was not 'bad' but it felt like something was missing like it just sorta ended out of no where)

cause the movie started off fairly crappy but started getting much better around the time he met the blond girl (with em talking etc) and it had it's moments and then the end sorta just came out of no where and i was like 'what?...' (sorta like you)

all in all...

i give it a 6/10... initially i was going to go with a 5/10 but it got better in the 2nd half ish of the movie and it had it's moments like when he was talking to the blond chick at times and when he went off on his friends for thinking spreading those STD's was funny etc etc.... cause during those types of scene's it got more interesting.

so basically anyone who is a Vin Diesel fan (which i generally am) i would probably check it out since it was pretty much his first film etc... but for everyone else, you could probably skip it.

p.s. considering it was low budget i think they did 'decent' considering what they had to work with.... sorta like you said, "It was OK for what it was" ;)

I really wondered what could've happened at the movie's end. So Rick was gonna see his mom and Heather was gonna see her son...Does he change his ways and do they get back together? It just really makes you think.

reply

Yup.

Bought it. Watched it. Loved it. Wrote a positive review.

Truthfully, I expected it to be obviously low-budget. It wasn't.

With the exception of a couple of the bit part one-night stand type girls in the movie, the acting was first-rate.

I got my copy from CD Universe, only because it had the (then) best price and ultra-cheap fast shipping. I had the DVD in my hands less than 48 hours after I ordered it. But ... it now appears that the link to Amazon.com through the OneRace website now has it a few dollars cheaper than CD Universe. Not sure what the shipping is though. CD Universe charged 1.99 to ship.

I rented it from Blockbuster. Personally thought I didn't like it. I wasn't moved by anything about it. Don't even know why the main guy liked the main girl. There were only two scenes I watched over again and that's because of the "girls" in those scenes. The story went no where and as some one that identifies with the main character I found myself ultimately disliking him and liking his buddies more. Sorry but thumbs down for me.

It's a shame, that people who review movies "don't get it". It may be a reflection of the way they were brought up. Rick, who is the "main guy" is looking to change. That's the whole point of the story. He was willing to make some major changes in his life because he knew it would never amount to anything. The ending, I thought, was perfect.

If you learned anything from this movie, you have truely grown up to be a responsible individual.

I liked what Vin Diesel did in this movie, I too wish he would do more directing and maybe writing stories. He seems to have a handle on things that are important in life.

I watched it last night and liked it. In the special features Vin said because he ran out of money during the shooting he had to end it the way he did. They had a week worth of shooting they didn't get to do and I wished they could have so the ending would have been better. I liked Vin ,he came across tough at times and sweet at others and he looked better than ever. The girl he fell for in the movie was a little too plain for him, I know there were plenty of prettier women in New York who could act. They could have searched harder for one.

I would give it a rent if i were you. I rented it from my local video store, which is small and has a poor selection. This leads me to believe that most rental places like Blockbuster would have it.
I think it's an OK movie. I mean, I don't regret watching it. It sort of reminded me of a Good Will Hunting movie, only not nearly as well done.

I rented if off of iTunes and loved it.
