Outstanding Screen Performance

I had no idea Vin was so talented as a storyteller. Vins performance was so good in this film you cant tell its low budget at all.

I liked Vin in it as well. I wished he chose roles like that these days, where he gets to show real emotion. He needs to go back to being a bad guy in some of his roles, i thought he played those perfectly. Pitch black was one he played just right.

Are you KIDDING ME???? I have never seen such wooden acting til this GARBAGE!!!!! You are obviously NOT in the industry and have no business commenting at all!!! SUCKY movie, HORRIBLE acting....

reply

Yes. "Sucky" and "horrible" are clear indicators of someone "in the industry" with ample "business" commenting. *cough*

Wait. PERHAPS!!!! we should USE LARGE CAPS!!!! and excessive EXCLAMATION POINTS!!!! to truly demonstrate professional expertise and industry knowledge?

On less vapid and childish note, I'm interested in seeing this film after watching "Find Me Guilty." Diesel did a fine job in that small film, and it's always a pleasure to see an actor exceed expectations.

It should have been called "GAYS". What a steamy hunk of homeerotic trash. I don't care if he, wrote, directed, and s@cked cack to get the money, in less than 2 minutes I was cringing and wanted to stop the pain of this POS. But tragically I endured another 15 minutes before I puked and was forced to turn it off and smash my dvd player due to laser poisoning. I believe it was a mercy kill, unfortunatly noone had the good sense to kill this thing before it ever got put onto whatever medium they wasted in it's creation. I have liked Vin in some past performances, some others not so much, but hey I don't blame anyone for gettin paid. But it's easy to see why this thing never saw any distribution. I been to funerals with more lively dialogue, and alot less stiff star attraction, good thing it was free from that rugue rectangle thing at the store, I'd have been pissed if I got chumped into paying for this waste of $50,000 at that overpriced blue and yellow rental monopoly. Can anyone who watched this not say it had very strong homosexual overtones and just a queer feel to it from the opening scene on?

Vin did a terrific job with Strays and he should be proud of what he accomplished with it and Multifacial. I hope he brings more of his stories to the screen.

This movie and the fact that people liked it are clear indicators that the USA has a heavy DRUG problem. You would have to be high to sit through this crap and actually LIKE it.

reply

i kinda wana see this now. anywhere i can get it?

also, is there any sex or drug use shown in the film?

reply

Best Buy, WalMart, Amazon, etc.

Yes and yes. The sex is non-graphic, and the drug use is strictly weed; we never see Vin's character high, and the others come off largely like buffoons when high. There is one character who is obviously severely addicted and wasted, and he is portrayed as truly pitiable.

The main character (Vin) undergoes a major epiphany toward the end, concluding that casual sex and drug use are not a cool thing.

Ignore the posters who flame this picture so childishly - they obviously get off on hearing the sound of their own voices. Yes, the pacing is languid, and Vin's acting, except for a few key moments, is so underplayed that you may find yourself looking around for a jumper cables.

But keep in mind that this picture made it to the Sundance Film Festival in '97, where Vin's performance was brought to Steven Spielberg's attention - Spielberg then cast Vin as Private Caparzo in "Saving Private Ryan".

I have decided, after much relection, that Mr Spielberg must have some (ahem) tendencies as the shirtless shots were THE only high points of the film.

There was NOTHING else to warrant any approval of this dreadful film.
