I have not seen any films in this series, but it seems to be contemporary to the Zatoichi series, which I enjoy (despite the formula)

Also, this is listed as a favourite of Isao Takahata, whose films I also enjoy.
So what are the pros & cons of, "Nemuri Kyoshiro" ?

Um, it involves a ronin and he sword-fights. Aside from that, it's not much like a Zatoichi movie. Same sub-genre (chambara) but with a very different protagonist/approach.
