DVD is subpar in video quality

Too bad that the DVD of this is of poor quality.

The movie is in an original 16:9 theatrical format (1.78:1), but the DVD fits all 204 minutes into a 4:3 (1.33:1) full-frame format. Anytime you fit 3 1/2 hours of movie onto one DVD disc, the video quality suffers versus splitting it across two discs.

They should re-do the Unrated version in the original 16:9 format and spread it across two discs, for higher video encoding, and thus, higher quality.

Agreed. The film looks like one is watching a low-grade VHS recording of a off-air broadcast. Plus I would appreciate a version without the Masterpiece Theater framing.
