It is interesting that the character is named Roberto Tassi.
The artist who painted the picture portrayed in the movie, Artemisia Gentileschi was raped in Florence by an associate of her father's, Agostino Tassi.
Some feel that the painting portrayed, Judith slaying Holofernes was painted by Gentileschi to portray her rage at Tassi with Judith representing her and Holofernes representing Tassi.
