What a mess

Where do we start with this? It seems to have been one of those films that have been re-written several times while it is being made - and it shows.

For a start, the chimp, featured prominently on the media covers (and in the title) plays almost no part in the action. The dog (and other animals) don't feature much either.

The Cobras are supposed to be musicians, but we never see them playing anything, or even holding any instruments. When the newcomer Wyatt is being questioned, he isn't asked anything about music, in fact he is being asked about joining their 'club', not 'band'. I think the idea of their being musicians was added later.

The concert organiser, Zipper, doesn't seem to be interested in their musical ability, and they seem to be rather young for a major concert (10-11). Their name goes up in lights, but it's said they don't even attend the concert as they are busy fighting crime - so where does the suitcase of money come from?

The narrative device of Marla writing a letter to her boyfriend is handled clumsily - it's not obvious she is writing after the action of the film at first - and the information that Bransom is really 'Record Boy' is told twice - once by Marla in her letter and then in the live action.
