annoyingly unrealistic for these reasons

1. The teacher. No way could a teacher talk to the students like the black teacher talked to his students. He would be fired.

2. The detention. No way would a teacher calmly take pot away from a teenager and set it on his desk and no way would a teenager just hand it to him. The police or security would be called and the kid would be suspended.

3. The flashing scene. Would a girl really go to such lengths to get her boyfriend out of detention?

4. The party. No way could a bunch of kids bust into somebody's house like that without the police getting called.

5. Heath Ledger. He was supposed to be made out to be kind of tough. However, as the movie played out, he kept getting nicer and nicer. He also associated with the "nerds." No way. Judd Nelson played it true on The Breakfast Club. That is how a tough guy is. Also, in school, the nerds do not have the guts to talk to the tougher guys as the two did in this movie. The groups stay with their own groups.

6. The model. How many kids in high school land modeling jobs? Never happened in my school. We all worked at McDonald's.

7. The french lessons. A language is hard to learn and and the guy did not know it. However, he learned it quick enough to teach it. Nope.

8. Other than these things, it was okay. I have seen worse movies, but come on.

"Duh. You're the idiot. Not me."

I think you're confused. This wasn't a documentary.

Can't stop the signal.

Thank you so much for this :D

For the first 3 it's just a movie.

4. Who's going to call the cops? The kid throwing the initial party? I mean do you seriously think the cops are going to believe some high school kid in that situation?

5. That's because he wasn't some "tough." That's just how he was perceived because of how he dressed and because he smoked. Truth is he was just a laid back regular guy who could be friends with anyone.

6. So because it didn't happen in your school it isn't possible? I mean teen models come from somewhere don't they?

7. I guess you missed the scene where he's "tutoring" her and she is replying back and he doesn't know what she is saying,

reply

1. Actually, my kids have had a number of teachers who were more like this guy than like the teachers I had... and they are the ones the kids learned the most from.

6. Where do you think models come from? His family obviously had money, so likely connections also. The actor who played him was on Full House, so started out as a child actor. In the 70s or 80s Phoebe Cats was in JC Penney catalogs. I don't remember where this was supposed to be, if not CA, then at least near a big city... so even if it was just local, modeling jobs exist.

reply

A teacher would need to take his d1ck out and jiggle it in front of the students in order to get fired nowadays. Its extremely hard for teachers to get fired. Sometimes schools dont even bother trying to fire teachers because the process is extremely difficult.

and lol @ the teen model problem. Have you seen kid models? do you think they are adults playing kids? lol

Unless youre responding to me, dont hit reply to my post

The funny thing about this movie is that the teachers don't seem to GAF.

How about the way Patrick just happens to get Joan Jett to their prom? And how Patrick hangs out and drinks beer in a bar (and Cameron and Michael just walk in without getting carded either)?

Yeah, I guess it was an enjoyable movie, but a lot of it was very unbelievable.

reply

You are kidding, right? You do know that wasn't Joan Jett or even supposed to be Joan Jett. He obviously called his griend that worked at the club they were at and had her come to play. And besides. .. its a movie

Have you ever heard of a fake ID? Every area has at least one bar or liquor store where the kids know it's not difficult to get alcohol. It was also a pool bar, so may have allowed under 21s in. I have taken my kids into bars before because of the entertainment, but not bought them alcohol.

reply

I agree with you, it was annoyingly unrealistic.
