Fans!!!

Looks like this show has now fans! I can't believe this board is EMPTY.

Only Morse can compete with Dalziel & Pascoe. Truly brilliant detective series.

Never watched the show til recently, read one or two of the books first and got hooked. Now watching re-runs on UK drama and the saturday night episodes.

There's a fair few not based on the novels aren't there?

I'm a huge fan of D & P, and am amazed that the show isn't available for purchase on either video or DVD. Looked everywhere including the BBC shop (U.K. and Canada) and a U.S. site called Acorn. Could it be a copyright issue?

I can understand it from this side of the Atlantic. Living in America we haven't seen much of this great show, unfortunately. A & E used to show this, along with other fine British mysteries such as Cracker, Lovejoy, A Touch of Frost, Morse, etc, before they turned to real life crime shows, and reruns of American shows like "Crossing Jordan" and "CSI Miami". I would say that is our loss.
D & L was such a great show, due to the fine writing, the complex characters and situations, and the exceptional performances. I am not alone, I am sure, when I say we miss shows like these.

Dalziel (Dee-L) & Pascoe is fantastic to watch and great to read, i urge people to read through the series of books!

When Dialogues Of The Dead was released i was fortunate enough to meet Reginald Hill, the author, at a book signing at Waterstones, Deansgate, Manchester and he was wonderful. He also mentioned how the BBC, responsible for bringing Dalziel and Pascoe to television, had tried to manipulate his creative input to the production and so he split from them which is why at a certain point the television series goes off on a tangent from the later books.

Nevertheless, this should not deter people from embracing both the novels and the tv series.

I love this show and the books, absolutely brilliant!

I would have to agree with you there. The books are the best crime novels around at the moment, and the tv shows are just as good, the chemistry between Colin Buchannan and Warren Clarke is just amazing. long may the programme continue and Reginald Hill keep bringing out books as long as he can.
