biker mice names have meanings

i was watchin constantine and in the dark bible there is the word modo many times in the book if u look closely so i wondered what it ment so i looked it up it was latin for now and so i looked up the name meaning of vinnie ( vincent)..

the name meanings are

vinnie = to conquer ( roman)
modo = now ( latin)
throttle leave as it is (english)

so it u put the gguys names in birth order it would be " conquer thorttle now"

which is preety much a sentance conqer the thorttle now the writers must have looked into there names or im looking to much into the names

You look into stuff way too much, they're all named after some sort of weapon or parts of a motobike, Tom tataranowicz the director of BMFM mentioned it in an interview a long time ago.

reply

well modo and vinnie must be a type of weapon then cus ive never come across a vinnie when im working on my bikes or a modo for that matter

but ive never seen in the newspaper man shot down with a 9mm modo and childs fingers cut off with a vinnie

Well, when the show first started, they really didn't have the whole "weapons and bikes" theme...it wasn't until they started going into the episodes where they featured more mice on/from the planet that they got the idea to go into the themed names...Harley, Carbine, Scabbard, Mace, etc.

But they DO play into that theme even if they were named beforehand...A 'Vincent' is a much, much older model of motorcycle - one of the firsts (it might be from Germany, if I remember my history right). And Modo...which I thought was "Moto" for a long time because of "motocross" racing. :3 It's a stretch, but it's explainable. XD

The Vincent Black Lightning was a British sports bike which, in 1948, became the fastest bike in the world, clocking 150mph. Quite appropriate for Vinnie "the velocity atrocity".

its funny how you went to motorcross racing for moto instead of just motorcycle.

its weird how you guys posted that 5 and a half years ago. I wonder what i was doing when you posted that.

Modo was my brother's hampster...

Insolent piece of crockery!

Actually, throttle means 'to strangle' which is why the valve in engines that regulates the flow of fuel, by strangling it, was called a throttle. Interesting about Modo though, I was trying to figure out what or where it could have come from.

This is all very interesting, I am enjoying this thread. I was almost eight, like a month shy of my birthday, when the original series came out and here is my impressions from way back then (big difference from grade school to college!).
I thought the name "Vincent Van Wham" was a parody of "Jean Claud Van Dam" a little bit. Not in personality or anything, just in sound.
I knew a Throttle was a piece of a bike, cause Daddy's little girl always loved her mean machines! ^_^
As for Modo, I was never sure if I was hearing "Modo" or "Moto" but ether way I thought it was a play on motor or Mojo, even though I didn't know what Mojo meant at that age.
