at the very beginning of the show when he quited as Batman and 20 years after when he met Terry?
shareAccording to Bruce Timm, Wayne was in his 80's during the main core of the series, when he's training and mentoring Terry, so that means he was in his 60's when he quit during the opening scene from the pilot.
Head over to YouTube (sorry, I don't know how to post links!) there's three short documentaries called "Batman Beyond- Inside Season 1/2/3" that are pretty decent. I'd recommend them!
