Don't remember the character's name, but he was the only one who could connect the Chicago mob head with some illicit (real estate?) deal so the Chicago boss told his crony he had to go (be eliminated, so he couldn't tie him in).

the character was Wayne Hookright, he was the one that Riles mentions at the beginning of the movie. They bought the grocery stores from him, that is why they needed the foodstamps from Pointy Williams, so they could launder them through the grocery stores.
