I managed to get a hold of this movie and can now understand why there are many fans. But I'm confused - did somebody mention that there were TWO versions of this movie? I've searched around and couldn't find additional information.

The creators of Snowfire, Dorrell McGowan and Stuart E. McGowan, had been very successful with their two syndicated TV series ("Death Valley Days" and "Sky King") and had hoped to develop "Snowfire" into a regular series as well. So, the original 73-minute, radiant color movie was "re-packaged" (that is, edited) and released in black-and-white as the pilot for a possible one-hour TV program.
