Anyone know where I can find the soundtrack??share
I am intersted to find the soundtrack too.The main song is a greek old song, which is adapted in english for the flim's needs and at the end is played in original greek version performed by Arleta.Really strange this, looking on film's info didnt find any greek bond so is unknown how and this song has been choosen. The truth is that fits perfectly and focus on the basic motto of the film.
Also does anybody know if i can find the film on tape or dvd somewhere over the net?
the ost was performed and most of it composed by the Dirty Three, an Australian trio featuring Warren Ellis on violin, from the Bad Seeds. you can find it in eDonkeyshare
My reply is a bit late, but I just happened to listen to a radio show, hosted by an economics professor, called Yannis Varoufakis. In this radio show, he mentioned a story that took place in Australia in 1988. As he says, several years ago he moved to Australia to teach in a University and one of the first things he wanted to do upon arrival was to explore the desert. After 1.500 kilometres he found a "hotel", in fact a bar in the middle of nowhere, owned by a guy named Brad. There, while listening to this guy telling tales of the gold digging past of the area, an old aborigin couple suddenly stood up, put a 45' in the Jukebox and started waltzing! The song was greek (as is the narrator) by Arleta called "Μια φορά θυμάμαι" (Once I remembered). Long story sort, some passerby forgot the record, that later became the favorite tune of the couple, both of them being unaware of the singer or even the language of the song. Later on, a student of Mr. Varoufakis, was among the credits of this movie, using not only this song as a soundtrack, but also his own interpretation of the story of the dancing aborigin couple!
Here is the song:
And here is the radio show (for those who speak Greek):

The Australian release of the soundtrack came out on Festival records. Try them. Otherwise, the main theme of the movie is a song featured on the Dirty Three album Horse Stories.
