So, the play version was called "The Rise and Fall of Little Voice". Does that imply that she was built up to something and then it all came crashing down in the play? I was wondering because the ending of the movie version, she was rather happy. Just curious. Keep on truckin

I think it was referring to her "singing career" and also to her life as the quiet dormouse to her overbearing mother. "Little Voice" fell and "Laura" rose up.
