Is LV a bit 'simple'?

It struck me as a bit strange that LV didn't want to do any more concerts at Mr Boo's club. I realise she was disgusted by the greed of Ray Say and her mother, but in time she could have got away from them. She was obviously giving a lot of pleasure to a lot of people and could have made a good living from singing, which I'm sure her late father would have been happy about.

It made me wonder whether LV is meant to be a bit simple or mentally backward in some way. Or is she just very naive and innocent? Her age isn't mentioned in the film but I'm guessing she's meant to be quite young - not much more than 18 or so.

It's strange to us because we can't understand why someone with that level of talent wouldn't want to perform and make a good living at it.

LV performed for her father, only. It only mattered to please him. Since his appearance only came in mirage-like sequences, it would be hit and miss at best, for a live audience.

Rather than simple, she was timorous and introspective. Billy was able through his kindhearted nature to bring her out of her self made prison.
