Jack Lemmon

This question was asked back in July with absolutely no response. Does anyone know why Jack Lemmon is "uncredited" in this movie? He appears in the beginning, in the end and narrates throughout. Still, his name appears nowhere in the credits. This was the last film Jack Lemmon made before his death and the movie was prophetic in that respect as he dies at the end. Surely this was a deliberate omission, and someone must know the reason.

I met Jack many years ago when both my husband and I worked in "the industry" though I cannot say I knew him. I asked several friends about the reason for
him being uncredited. All stated that he wanted to do the movie as it was a
part which was so very like his lifelong experience with, and extreme love of the game of golf. They say he requested that his name not appear as he believed that everyone would know him and believed that his reasons would be obvious to everyone who knew of his history of playing at The Pebble Beach Pro/Am and never 'making the cut' in more than 35 years. As far as anyone could tell me, he was paid "well" and it all was donated to the charities that he had played for all his life. Nobody is sure whether Jack knew it might be his last film.

Thank you so much. I love the film and especially Jack's part.
