Rob was way too much of a loser to hook up with Lisa Bonet.

Sorry, but I never bought that part. She was too cool and sexy. He would not have the required swagger to bag her.

That's kind of the whole point. He even admits that it was quite a score.
The point is that he has the unbelievable chance to have sex with a cool sexy musician but it doesn't matter. What matters is giving up the fantasy and growing up to be the man Laura needs him to be to make the relationship work.

He marvels at why any of his breakups actually hooked up with him in the first place, ala Catherine Zeta Jones.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

Hot Girls hook up with losers and abusers every single day. And most of them stay together for more abuse. It doesn't make sense, but it shouldn't be a surprise if you've ever seen real couples.

She wanted to have sex (basic human right) she probably hooks up with a good amount of dudes. It was just sex nothing more. he wasn't "James."

Yeah it was the whole point of the scene, to illustrate how a mopy downer indie type of guy can score with her.. he pokes fun of it while explaining it... highly realistic, that atypical guy with a certain mopiness to them breed attractiveness I guess

Bonet was not a great catch in this movie. His girl friend was the catch and I can't believe he got her in the end.

Still a great movie.

Thats a clown question , BRO.......

CLOSE the FRIGGEN BORDER ALREADY!!!

We don't really know for sure because her character moves in and out of the movie so quickly.

Most of Rob's girlfriends were way too hot for Rob. I spent the first half of the movie wondering why he thought he had such bad luck. Then in the second half you find out they all have their imperfections and their reasons for hooking up with Rob.

So was Marie De Salle too good for Rob? Maybe, but if the movie had spent more time with her we would have probably discovered her flaws. Besides, Marie made it clear that it was just a one-night stand and that sex was no big thing for her.

Lisa Bonet was never All That to me, even back in her Cosby Show/Different World days where she played a coddled debutante. I never saw the appeal, and I always found her acting style extremely lazy and half-assed
